Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word for universal life force. Reiki is everywhere, yogis call it prana, others call it chi or spiritual energy. Usually it works within us and the world sustaining all life without being noticed. A Reiki practitioner is awakened to this energy. This awareness allows them to work directly with the universal life energy to heal and support life on all levels. They do not create Reiki, rather they tap into a spring or a deep well and become a conduit to share it with the world. They use their hands and their intention to guide the Reiki; and the Reiki goes to where it is needed. Reiki energy can also be "transmitted" over time and distance. Reiki always works to the highest good, never causing harm, and goes where it is needed all on it's own. You do not even need to believe in Reiki, but only wish to serve as a transmitter. The Reiki energy will do all the work.

For the purposes of this effort, you do not need to be a Reiki practitioner! Why can't I display these symbols? While there are many in Reiki circles who would like to see them be open for everyone, some of the old school practitioners believe that they should be kept secret from the non attuned to prevent their powers from being misused, but this thinking would seem to me to be contrary to the premise that Reiki does no harm. If you are diligent enough, they can be found in books or on the internet, and if you are a clever enough web wonk, you might be able to find the hidden pages on this website. It's my obligation to follow the requirements of my certifying authority....

The creators of this website are level 2 Reiki attuned, and it is our hope and intention that thousands if not zillions of good people out there will get together to send our gentle love, our support, and some Universal Life Energy to the Obama family.... and as Reiki also gives to both the sender and receiver a sense of balance and healing, to bring some peace and healing to us all.

If you are not a Reiki attuned person, it will be sufficient for you to know that you can do this without anything that you might consider strange or uncomfortable mumbo-jumbo, and your power of intention will suffice .
